The Pitch

I am thrilled to present my new Christmas song, Hey! A Child Is Born!, that was inspired by the beloved story, “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever”. This song is an upbeat, joyous Christmas song about the journey to the stage for the yearly pageant. From the initial apprehension to the unpolished beauty that was observed under candle light that powerful night. Since this song is about a kids pageant, I found it fitting to include kid voices on the track.

I also wrote a second song called, "Don't Offend the Room". I wanted to have a song that zoomed in on the lives of these troubled kids, as well as the closed hearts of the town that so readily discarded them. This song ends with the words of Jesus, “Come to Me.” Jesus came for all. While this song was written about a specific story, the truths found within its lyrics will resonate with people in all walks of life.

I have read this book every year since I was a little kid, and this last Christmas I was able to read it to my kids - who are still gravely concerned for the Herdmans.

It was an absolute joy to live in the pages of this beloved book while writing these songs and I hope that they are a blessing to you.

KellyMarie

Fresh out of the South, based in McKinney, Texas, KellyMarie is an emerging artist to watch. Her music falls under indie-pop genres with breezy melodies that have brought comparisons to Of Monsters and Men lead singer, Nanna Hilmarsdottir. Citing influences such as Ingrid Michaelson, Sarah Jaffe, and ’60s rock artists such as The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, and The Beach Boys.

She first stepped onto the scene with her debut EP, ON A WHIM (2018) – a folk-pop collection of songs featuring energetic horns, lively keys, electric guitar lines, and percussion alongside KellyMarie’s airy and sly vocals. Now making a comeback, KellyMarie is thrilled to announce her first full-length album IT IS MY ALBUM., coming SPRING 2022. This new project reflects KellyMarie’s upbeat and quirky nature- as it is inspired by beloved household television staple, THE OFFICE. “It’s often said - write about what you know and love,” says the seasoned songstress, so during the lockdown, she did just that.

KellyMarie is a story teller and showcases her songwriting skills in her debut album, “IT IS MY ALBUM.”, which is entirely inspired by TV’s ‘The Office’. Reviews have stated that the album “beautifully showcases KellyMarie's smooth, expressive vocals that soar effortlessly over upbeat pop melodies… nicely paired with steady percussion and warm rhythms that create an overall chill, feel-good atmosphere.”- Caesar Live N Sound. Beyond the angelic vocals and carefree melodies fans have already fallen in love with, listeners can expect to encounter a new side of KellyMarie’s artistry that offers a deeper look into the singer we met in 2018.

Currently, KellyMarie is working on new music - including a Christmas song that’s set to be released in November. She is excited about this new music, with its refreshing themes and sounds all while staying true to her whimsical roots.
